How It Works

Using our online interactive website, every Tomer Devorah student can choose from thousands of possible schedule combinations to create the year that is best for YOU!

Filling in your seminary schedule is easy and exciting, so let’s get started using the instructions below!

Using the Schedulizer

On your screen, you will have a schedule in front of you with all of the available options. The blue “events” are Hashkafa based classes and the red “events” are Halacha or Tanach based classes.

Get ready to choose your classes based on your personal preferences!

Each course has additional information which is important to read before making a selection. You can hover over each course to see a course description, the name of the teacher and any required sefarim. To learn more about any of the classes, you can also refer to the Courses  page.

Courses marked with a heart are classes that are geared toward those students who are driven to learn on a higher level.  They do not require a higher academic background nor harder workload, but offer more academic, emotional and personal challenge.

You will only be able to submit your schedule once you fulfill certain requirements. Pay careful attention to the “counters” at the top of the page! They are there in order to help you keep track of your requirements and hours.

All students are required to fulfill: A minimum of 38 Weekly Class Hours Total with at least 19 hours satisfying the Halacha/Tanach requirement.  The remainder of your classes can be filled with any of the other courses offered at Tomer Devorah.

Core courses

Certain classes are CORE COURSES, meaning that you must take that class (in some form) throughout the week.  Many of the core classes have been pre-filled in electronically.

A few of the Core Courses such as Hilchot Nashim or Mechanechet meetings are offered more than once per week allowing you the flexibility of creating your schedule around them.

In order to check if you’ve satisfied all of the Core Courses, please notice the link under the class counter feature labeled “meet all requirements” in blue.  Clicking on that link will help you know exactly what you’re still missing.

Halacha/Tanach courses

The courses listed in red are the Halacha/Tanach courses.  You must choose at least 19 of these courses.

Elective courses

ELECTIVE COURSES are all the blue time slots throughout the week.

You have dozens of courses to choose from, giving you the opportunity to focus your learning on what is going to help YOU maximize your year.

Mechanechet Meeting

There are various slots in the morning hours open to scheduling a mechanechet meeting. After choosing your morning classes, you can see where you have an open slot for your weekly meeting with your mechanechet.

Keep in mind that the first few weeks of school will be a trial period for you to test out this schedule, and Rabbi Oratz, will be available to help you adjust your schedule to make sure it works best for you within the school’s requirements.
